Renovation (10/08/08 to 12/31/09) Golden Sands Resort, Penang is continuously upgrading and improving its facilities and services to maintain an enviable standard of excellence in meeting and exceeding customer expectations. In pursuit of this commitment, they wish to advise that the resort is currently undergoing a makeover programme to improve guest facilities.
Sigi's by The Sea, the beachfront restaurant will be closed from 8th October 2008 to facilitate upgrading works. The project costing is US$2.5 million and will involve a complete refurbishing of the restaurant, enhancing its tropical flair and expanded to include additional open-air upper decks for a cool al fresco dining experience. The restaurant, scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2009 will reopen providing an exciting family-orientated dining concept by the beach.
Over the course of this makeover programme, Sigi's popular dishes will be available at the newly refurbished Garden Cafe located on the lobby level, while Peppino Restaurant will continue to serve all of your favorite Italian cuisine. For casual dining, the Kuda Laut poolside bar and restaurant provides light, modern dishes and a tempting array of cool drinks. Guests also have special access to dine in the restaurants and bars at the adjoining Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa.
Upgrading works will be confined solely to the Sigi's by The Sea area, and will only take place between 10:00am to 6:00pm daily, with minimal construction on Sundays and Public Holidays. Every effort will be made to minimize any impact on guest experience.
